Rusty Tillman

Kerry Jerome "Rusty" Tillman was an outfielder for the Mets in 1982. He played in 12 games with the team. Tillman had two hits and four runs scored as a Met.
Tillman joined the Mets during the '82 season. In his major league debut on June 6, he got a pinch-hit single in the Mets' 6-3 win at Cincinnati. Rusty scored the winning run in a 5-3 Mets victory in the first game of a doubleheader at St. Louis on June 18. Two days later, he scored in the 10th inning to put the Mets ahead to stay in a 5-4 win over the Cards. Tillman also hit a double in a 2-1 Mets defeat to the Phillies on September 24 at Shea Stadium.
In 1983 and 1984, Tillman played for the Mets' AAA-level Tidewater team in Norfolk, Virginia. Over the next five years, he continued to play with several minor league teams. Rusty also spent time with the Oakland Athletics in 1986 and San Francisco Giants in 1988. From 1990 to 1995, he played and managed in the Mexican League.
