Royce Ring was a pitcher for the Mets in 2005 and 2006. He made 26 relief appearances for the team. Ring had 16 strikeouts in 23 and one-third innings pitched as a Met.

Ring made his major league debut on April 29, 2005. He pitched one-third of an inning in the Mets’ 5-1 loss at Washington. Royce pitched a perfect seventh inning in an 8-5 Mets win at Philadelphia on June 21. On September 4, 2006, he had two perfect innings in a 5-0 Mets defeat to the Braves at Shea Stadium. Ring also pitched a pair of scoreless innings to finish off the Mets’ 13-0 victory at Washington on September 30.

Following the ’06 season, Ring was traded to the Padres. He continued to pitch in the major leagues until 2010. Royce pitched in the Red Sox’ minor league system in 2011.
