Ron Locke was a pitcher for the Mets in 1964. He appeared in 25 games with the team. Locke recorded one win and 17 strikeouts as a Met.
Locke made his major league debut with a pair of scoreless innings in the Mets' 5-1 loss to the Cubs at Shea Stadium on April 23. He had two strikeouts in two shutout innings pitched in a 7-3 Mets defeat to the Colt .45s on June 4 at Shea. Ron pitched seven innings and got his only major league win in the Mets' 4-2 victory over the Colt .45s in the second game of a doubleheader at Shea on August 2. He also pitched four and one-third innings of scoreless ball in a 7-3 Mets loss at Milwaukee on October 1.
After the '64 season, Locke continued to pitch in the Mets' minor league system. He appeared in a total of 133 games at the AA and AAA levels from 1965 to 1969. Locke had a 30-27 won-lost record for Mets' affiliates during this five-year period. He concluded his career in the minor leagues in 1970.
