Rick Down

Rick Down was a coach for the Mets from 2005 to 2007. He served as the team’s hitting instructor during his two years with the team. The Mets won a division title with Down on the staff.
From 1969 to 1978, Down was an outfielder in the Expos’ and Mariners’ minor league systems. He served on the coaching staff of five major league teams between 1987 and 2001. Rick was also a manager in the Yankees’ system for four years.
Following his time with the Mets, Down became a scout for the San Francisco Giants.
