Rich Rodriguez was a pitcher for the Mets in 2000. Made 32 relief appearances for the team. Rodriguez had 18 strikeouts in 37 innings pitched as a Met.

Rodriguez joined the Mets as a free agent for his tenth major league season. At Shea Stadium on April 5, he struck out four ballers in three scoreless innings in a 4-0 Mets win over the Padres. Rich also pitched scoreless eighth and ninth innings to finish off the Mets' 11-3 victory over the Orioles at Shea on June 7.

In 2001, Rodriguez was released by the Mets. He pitched for the Cleveland Indians during the season. Rich spent the next two years with the Texas Rangers and Anaheim Angels to conclude his career.
