Rich Puig

Rich Puig was an infielder for the Mets in 1974. He played in 4 games and went hitless in 10 at bats. Puig played three games at second base and one game at third base.

Puig was taken by the Mets in the first round of the free agent draft in 1971. After four seasons in the minor leagues, he was called up to the Mets in September of '74. On September 18, Rich drew a walk in the Mets' 4-0 loss to the Expos at Montreal. This was his only time on base as a major leaguer.

Rich played two more seasons in the minors to finish his career as a player.
