Rey Sanchez

Rey Sanchez was an infielder for the Mets in 2003. He played in 56 games with the team. Sanchez had 36 hits and 12 runs batted in as a Met.

In '03, Sanchez joined the Mets after twelve seasons in the major leagues. On April 9, he singled twice and scored a run in a 3-2 Mets loss at Florida. Rey had two singles, two doubles and two runs scored in the Mets' 6-5 defeat in 10 innings at St. Louis on May 1. He had a run-scoring triple in a 3-2 Mets win over the Dodgers on May 6 at Shea Stadium. Sanchez had three singles in the Mets' 4-2 victory at Philadelphia on May 27. He also collected four singles in eight at bats in 4-2 and 10-4 Mets triumphs over the Braves at Shea on May 31 and June 1, respectively.

On July 29, 2003, Sanchez was traded to the Mariners. He completed the season with the Seattle team and played for the Devil Rays in 2004. Rey concluded his career with the Yankees in 2005.
