Reid Cornelius

Reid Cornelius was a pitcher for the Mets in 1995. He appeared in 10 games with the team. Cornelius had three wins and 35 strikeouts as a Met.

Cornelius joined the Mets in a trade with the Expos during the ’95 season. At Philadelphia on August 8, he was the winning pitcher in a 12-10 Mets victory over the Phillies. Reid pitched six and one-third innings for the win in the Mets’ 8-2 triumph over the Phils on September 17 at Shea Stadium. He also pitched six innings for the win in a 9-2 Mets victory over the Reds in the second game of a doubleheader at Shea on September 27.

In 1996, Cornelius was traded to the Cleveland Indians. He pitched one season with the Tribe’s AAA-level team in Buffalo and two years in the Diamondbacks’ and Marlins’ minor league systems. Reid pitched for the Marlins in 1999 and 2000 to conclude his career.
