Ray Searage

Ray Searage was a pitcher for the Mets in 1981. He made 26 relief appearances for the team. Searage had a 1-0 won-lost record and one save as a Met.

Searage made his major league debut at Shea Stadium on June 11, 1981. He pitched two scoreless innings as the Mets lost to the Reds, 5-2, in the team's final game before the Major League players strike. In the Mets' second game after the labor stoppage, Ray had a pair of shutout innings and got his first major league win in a 4-2 victory at Chicago on August 11. In the game, he got a single for his first major league hit. Searage also had one and two-thirds perfect innings for a save in the Mets' 5-3 win at Pittsburgh on September 9.

On January 8, 1982, Searage was traded to the Cleveland Indians. He spent two years in the Tribe's minor league system before a three-season stint with the Milwaukee Brewers. Ray pitched for the White Sox and Dodgers between 1986 and 1990. He completed his career in the Angels' system in 1992.

In 2010, Searage became the pitching coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
