Randy Sterling was a pitcher for the Mets in 1974. He appeared in three games with the team. Sterling had nine and one-third innings pitched and one win as a Met.
In '74, Sterling made his major league debut at Montreal on September 16. He was the winning pitcher in the Mets' 3-2 victory over the Expos in the second game of a doubleheader. Randy suffered the loss in a 6-3 Mets defeat in a doubleheader nightcap at Philadelphia on September 25. He also pitched two innings of a 7-3 Mets loss to the Pirates on September 28 at Shea Stadium.
Sterling pitched in 29 games for the Mets' AAA-level Tidewater (Norfolk, Virginia) team to conclude his career in 1975.
