Randy Jones was a pitcher for the Mets in 1981 and 1982. He appeared in 41 games with the team. Jones had eight wins and 58 strikeouts as a Met.

Jones came to the Mets in a trade with the Padres on December 15, 1980. He had 59 and one-third innings pitched for the Mets in 1981. Randy recorded his only win of the strike-shortened season in a 3-2 Mets victory over the Cubs on May 31 at Shea Stadium. He spent the first three weeks of the second half of the season on the disabled list with an injured right ankle and appeared in two games in September.

In 1982, Jones made 20 starts and eight relief appearances. He chalked up seven wins in his final year in the major leagues. In the season opener on April 8, Randy pitched six innings and got the win in the Mets' 7-2 triumph at Philadelphia. He had a complete game win against his former team as the Mets pulled out a 3-2 victory over the Padres on May 10 at Shea. Jones pitched a four-hit shutout in a 2-0 Mets win at Houston on May 23. In the second game of a doubleheader at Pittsburgh on August 6, he recorded the last win of his career in a 7-3 Mets triumph over the Pirates.
