The Mets made a trade with the Padres in December of 1993. Pitcher Marc Kroon and outfielder Randy Curtis were dealt to San Diego for pitcher Frank Seminara, outfielder Tracy Sanders and infielder Pablo Martinez. Kroon and Curtis were Single-A level players in the Mets' system. Seminara had a 12-7 won-lost record in two seasons with the Padres. Sanders and Martinez were minor leaguers with no previous major league experience.
Seminara pitched in 10 games for the Mets in 1994. He lost his only two decisions and had a 5.82 earned run average to end his major league career. Sanders played at AA-level Binghamton and AAA-level Norfolk over two seasons and never reached the majors. Martinez played at three minor league levels in '94, his only year in the Mets' organization.
Kroon made 14 relief appearances for the Padres over three seasons. He had neither a win nor a save with the San Diego team. Curtis never played in the major leagues.
