Pedro Beato is a pitcher for the Mets. He joined the team in 2011.
Beato pitched in 60 games in relief for the Mets in ’11. He recorded two wins and 39 strikeouts during the season. At Atlanta on April 16, Pedro struck out all three batters in the seventh inning of the Mets’ 4-0 loss to the Braves in the second game of a doubleheader. He got his first major league win in a 6-3 Mets triumph at Washington on April 27. Beato had three scoreless innings pitched in the Mets’ 2-1 victory in 14 innings at Philadelphia on May 1. He had one and two-thirds scoreless innings with three strikeouts in a 3-2 Mets win over the Athletics in 13 innings on June 22 at Citi Field. Pedro was the winning pitcher in a 5-2 Mets triumph at San Francisco on July 8. He also had scoreless innings pitched in the Mets’ 3-2 and 7-5 victories over the Marlins at Citi Field on August 31 and September 1, respectively.
