Pedro A. Martinez was a lefthanded pitcher for the Mets in 1996. He appeared in five games in relief during the season. Martinez struck out 6 batters in 7 innings pitched and had a 0-0 won-lost record as a member of the team.

Before joining the Mets, Pedro pitched three seasons in the major leagues with the Padres and Astros. In '96, he made his debut as a Met with three innings of one-hit shutout relief at St. Louis on June 14. Martinez pitched one and one-third innings in a 9-6 Mets win at Montreal on July 5 in his final game with the team. On September 13, Pedro was claimed on waivers by the Reds, with whom he finished his career in 1997.
