Norm Sherry

Norm Sherry was a catcher for the Mets in 1963. He played in 63 games with the team. Sherry had 20 hits and six runs scored as a Met.
After four seasons with the Dodgers, Sherry joined the Mets for '63. He hit a solo home run in the second inning of a 3-1 Mets win over the Braves at the Polo Grounds on April 20. Norm hit a three-run homer in the Mets' 17-4 loss to the Giants on May 4 at the Polo Grounds. He drove in the winning run with a ninth-inning single for a 4-3 Mets victory over the Colt .45s at the Polo Grounds on July 16. Sherry also singled twice and drove in a run in an 8-1 Mets defeat to the Cubs in the first game of a doubleheader at the Polo Grounds on August 11.
Sherry played in 100 games for the Mets' AAA-level team in Buffalo in 1964. He then served three years as a player-manager for the Dodgers' A-level team in Santa Barbara. Norm managed in the California Angels' minor league system between 1969 and 1975. He was also the Angels' manager for the 1976 and 1977 seasons.
