Mike Matthews

Mike Matthews was a pitcher for the Mets in 2005. He made six relief appearances for the team. Matthews had five innings pitched and one win as a Met.

After five seasons in the major leagues, Matthews joined the Mets as a free agent in ‘05. He pitched a scoreless seventh inning and got the win in a 4-3 Mets victory over the Astros at Shea Stadium on April 14. Mike had one and one-third scoreless innings pitched in a 5-4 Mets loss at Philadlphia on April 18. He also appeared in five games for the Mets’ AAA-level team in Norfolk during the season.
