Mike DiFelice

Mike DiFelice was a catcher for the Mets from 2005 to 2007. He played in 42 games with the team. DiFelice had 14 hits and six runs batted in as a Met.

From 1996 to 2004, DiFelice played with six different major league teams. He then joined the Mets as a free agent. During the ’05 season, Mike singled in the Mets’ 4-1 win at Arizona on August 22 and season-closing 11-3 loss to the Rockies at Shea Stadium on October 2. He also had a run-scoring single in a 7-2 Mets victory at Philadelphia on August 17, 2006.

DiFelice had 40 at bats for the Mets in 2007. He compiled 14 total bases for the year. At Pittsburgh on August 14, Mike had a single and a run-scoring double in the Mets’ 5-4 win over the Pirates. He had a sacrifice fly and a two-run triple in a 6-2 Mets victory at Washington on August 17. DiFelice also singled three times in a 5-2 Mets win over the Dodgers on August 24 at Shea.

In 2008, DiFelice concluded his major league career with the Tampa Bay Rays. Over the next two years, he served as manager for the Mets’ Rookie-level team in Kingsport, Tennessee.
