Mike DeJean

Mike DeJean was a pitcher for the Mets in 2004 and 2005. He made 45 relief appearances for the team. DeJean had three wins and 41 strikeouts as a Met.
DeJean joined the Mets in a trade with the Orioles on July 19, 2004. He had a 1.69 earned run average over the rest of the season. At Shea Stadium on July 25, Mike struck out four batters in two perfect innings in a 4-3 Mets loss to the Braves. He fanned three hitters in perfect eighth and ninth innings that finished off the Mets’ 7-3 win over the Astros on August 10 at Shea. DeJean also pitched a pair of perfect innings in a 3-1 Mets defeat at San Francisco on August 22.
In ’05, DeJean had 25 and two-thirds innings pitched with the Mets. He pitched a scoreless 11th inning for the win in a 1-0 Mets victory over the Astros on April 13 at Shea. Mike was the winning pitcher in the Mets’ 7-4 victory at Chicago on May 9. He also chalked up the win in a 2-1 Mets triumph over the Reds on May 17 at Shea.
DeJean was released by the Mets on July 20, 2005. He completed the season with the Rockies. In 2006, Mike pitched in two games for the Colorado team and spent the next season in the Rockies’ minor league system. He concluded his career with the Guerreros de Oaxaca of the Mexican League in 2008.
