The Mets and Padres exchanged outfielders in November of 2005. Mike Cameron was dealt to San Diego in return for Xavier Nady. Cameron was a ten-year major league veteran who batted .247 with 42 home runs in two seasons with the Mets. Nady had a .263 batting average in 269 games played as a Padre.
Nady played in 75 games for the Mets in 2006. He had 14 homers with 40 runs batted in while hitting .264 with the team. Xavier was traded to the Pirates during the season.
Cameron batted .255 with 43 homers and 161 RBIs in two seasons with the San Diego team. Mike signed with the Milwaukee Brewers as a free agent in January of 2008.
