Mike Cameron was an outfielder for the Mets in 2004 and 2005. He played in 216 games with the team. Cameron had 42 home runs and 115 runs batted in as a Met.

Cameron joined the Mets after nine seasons in the major leagues. In ’04, he led the team with 76 runs scored, 30 homers, 76 RBIs and 22 stolen bases. At Shea Stadium on May 4, Mike had two singles and a two-run homer in the Mets’ 6-2 win over the Giants. He homered in the ninth inning for a 3-2 Mets victory over the Tigers at Shea on June 18. One day later, Cameron hit a single to drive in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th for a 4-3 Mets triumph over the Tigers. He hit a pair of home runs in a 10-1 Mets win at Philadelphia on July 7. Mike had two homers, a stolen base and four runs scored in the Mets’ 10-1 victory at Montreal on July 29. He also drove in four runs in a 10-3 Mets win at Colorado on August 19.

Injuries limited Cameron to 75 games played in 2005. He collected 84 hits during the season. At Florida on May 26, Mike had a single, two doubles, a stolen base and three RBIs in a 12-4 Mets victory over the Marlins. He hit a home run to put the Mets ahead to stay in the team’s 5-1 win over the Giants on June 4 at Shea. Cameron drove in three runs with two singles and a homer in an 8-1 Mets triumph over the Braves at Shea on July 17. He also had three singles and a home run in the Mets’ 9-8 win over the Brewers in 11 innings on August 2 at Shea.

Cameron was traded to the Padres after the ’05 season. He spent two years with the San Diego team and two more with the Brewers. Mike played for the Red Sox in 2010. He joined the Marlins during the 2011 season.
