Mike Bruhert

Mike Bruhert was a pitcher for the Mets in 1978. He appeared in 27 games with the team. Bruhert recorded four wins and 56 strikeouts as a Met.

Bruhert made 22 starts for the Mets in the '78 season. At St. Louis on April 18, he pitched six innings of three-hit ball and got his first major league win in the Mets' 3-2 victory over the Cardinals. Mike was the winning pitcher in a 7-4 Mets triumph over the Astros in the first game of a doubleheader on July 20 at Shea Stadium. He pitched seven and one-third innings and got the win in the Mets' 6-3 victory at San Diego on August 24. At Philadelphia on September 17, Bruhert pitched a four-hit shutout in a 2-0 Mets win over the Phillies.

In 1979, Bruhert was traded to the Texas Rangers. He pitched in the Rangers' minor league system until 1981. Mike concluded his career with the Yankees' AAA-level team in Columbus in 1982.
