Mike Bishop was a catcher for the Mets in 1983. He played in three games with the team. Bishop had one hit and two runs scored as a Met.
In ’83, Bishop made his major league debut on April 16. He was the Mets’ starting catcher in a 6-2 loss at St. Louis. Mike doubled and scored a run in a 7-4 Mets win over the Pirates in the second game of a doubleheader at Shea Stadium on April 20. He also scored a run in a 5-3 Mets loss in a doubleheader nightcap at Atlanta on April 24.
Over the rest of the ’83 season, Bishop played in 93 games in the Mets’ minor league system to conclude his career.
