Mickey Brantley

Mickey Brantley was a coach for the Mets in 1999. He served as the team's hitting instructor. Brantley was on a coaching staff under manager Bobby Valentine.

As a player, Brantley appeared in 302 games with the Mariners between 1986 and 1989. He collected 295 hits during his career. Mickey served as manager for the Mets' rookie-level Gulf Coast team in 1996 and 1997. Under his direction in '99, the Mets batted .279 as a team and became the National League Wild Card.

Brantley also served as the hitting instructor for the Toronto Blue Jays from 2005 to 2007.
