The Mets came in to the game looking to close the race in the East for the forth time in as many days as the Phillies won three in a row and the Mets got sweeped for just the second time in 2006 (the first one was in Boston).
Mets starter Steve Trachsel looking to win his 15th win did a great job. He went 6.1 innings only allowing three hits.
Jose Valentin went 3-2 and hit two Home Runs with three RBI, he was the star of the game.
The Mets got the last out as Billy Wagner threw the 1-0 pitch to Josh Willingham and he flied out to Left Fielder Cliff Floyd. The Mets bench cleared and all the players were huging each other on the field before going in to the club house for there shampaine.
