1976: The Mets defeat the Phillies, 5-2, at Veterans Stadium. Wayne Garrett hits a three-run triple off Tug McGraw with two out in the ninth. Garrett then scores on Roy Staiger's double.

1978: The Mets score six runs in the final three innings for a 9-7 comeback win over the Astros at Houston.

1986: Ron Darling strikes out twelve batters and George Foster hits a grand slam in an 8-1 Mets win over the Dodgers at Shea Stadium.

1987: The Mets defeat the Giants, 4-3, on ninth inning home runs by Darryl Strawberry and Gary Carter. During the game, David Cone is hit by a pitch and misses the next 11 weeks.

1995: Bret Saberhagen pitches a complete game as the Mets end a six-game losing streak with a 6-3 win over the Giants at Shea Stadium.

2010: The Mets defeat the Phillies, 3-0, at Citi Field. The win gives the Mets a three-game series sweep, all by shutout.
