1972: Jim Fregosi drives in five runs with a two-run single and a three-run homer as the Mets defeat the Pirates, 7-4, at Shea Stadium.
1973: Buzz Capra pitches four innings of shutout hitless relief for his first major league save as the Mets defeat the Phillies, 7-6, in the first game of a doubleheader at Shea Stadium. The Phils win the nightcap, 7-1.
1994: Dwight Gooden is suspended for violating baseball's substance-abuse policy. He never pitches for the Mets again.
1995: Bill Pulsipher gets his first major league win in the Mets' 2-0 victory over the Florida Marlins at Miami. Pulsipher scores the winning run in the game.
2001: The Mets score four runs in the seventh and eighth inning for a 5-4 comeback win over the Cubs at Chicago.
2007: Tom Glavine pitches a one-hitter in a 2-0 Mets win over the Cardinals. The game is shortened to six innings due to rain.
2008: Carlos Delgado hits a grand slam and a three-run homer in the Mets' 15-6 win over the Yankees in the Bronx. Delgado's 9 RBI's in the game set a new team record. That night, the teams play again at Shea Stadium with the Yanks winning, 9-0.
2010: The Mets hit three home runs to defeat the Twins, 6-0, at Citi Field. Four pitchers combine for the shutout.
