1962: The Mets defeat the Colt .45s, 13-2, at the Polo Grounds. Richie Ashburn hits two home runs, the second of which is inside-the-park.
1963: The Mets sweep a doubleheader from the Phillies, 5-0 and 4-1. In the first game, Carl Willey pitches a two-hit shutout and Jim Piersall runs the bases backwards on his 100th career home run.
1971: Al Weis grounds out in his final major league at bat. The Mets lose to the Pirates, 6-2.
1978: The Mets defeat the Pirates, 3-2, in 11 innings at Shea Stadium. Tim Foli drives in the winning run with a single.
1983: The Mets come back from a four-run deficit and defeat the Cardinals, 7-5, at Shea Stadium.
1992: The Mets defeat the Cubs, 4-1, at Shea Stadium. Todd Hundley hits a three-run homer to put the Mets ahead to stay.
