1965: The Mets sweep a doubleheader against the Cubs, 3-2 and 3-0, at Shea Stadium. In the second game, Tom Parsons pitches his only major league shutout.

1971: The Mets defeat the Expos, 8-0, to gain a split of a doubleheader. Ray Sadecki retires the last 19 Montreal batters in pitching a three-hit shutout.

1990: The Mets hit five home runs in a 9-8 victory over the Braves in Atlanta. Wally Whitehurst records his first major league win.

1995: Bobby Bonilla hits a run-scoring single in the ninth inning to give the Mets a 5-4 win over the Cubs at Shea Stadium.

2002: The Mets defeat the Florida Marlins, 5-3, in Miami. Mike Bacsik gets his first major league win.

2011: Jason Bay and Carlos Beltran combine for three homers and six RBIs in a 6-0 Mets win over the Dodgers at Los Angeles.
