1965: John Stephenson hits a run-scoring single in the 10th inning to give the Mets a 3-2 victory over the Phillies at Shea Stadium. It is the final win for Casey Stengel as a manager.
1967: Bob Hendley pitches a complete game four-hitter in a 4-1 Mets victory over the Dodgers at Shea Stadium.
1968: Ed Kranepool and Ron Swoboda hit home runs in the Mets' 2-1 win over the Braves in Atlanta.
1976: Del Unser hits a home run in the 11th inning to give the Expos a 3-2 win over the Mets at Montreal. Unser had been traded by the Mets to the Expos only two days earlier.
1984: Wally Backman's run-scoring single in the 12th inning gives that Mets a 4-3 win over the Cardinals at Shea Stadium.
1998: Matt Franco singles home the winning run as the Mets defeat the Brewers, 6-5, at Milwaukee.
