1978: The Mets defeat the Reds, 4-2, at Cincinnati. It is the team's first triumph ever over Tom Seaver. The victory is also Jerry Koosman's last win as a Mets pitcher.
1980: The Mets sweep a doubleheader with 7-4 and 10-4 wins over the Cardinals at Shea Stadium. Lee Mazzilli drives in six runs in the twinbill.
1997: The Mets come back from a 6-0 deficit to beat the Braves, 7-6, in 10 innings. Butch Huskey hits two home runs and Alex Ochoa homers in the top of the tenth to win it.
2003: The Mets end a six-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the Phillies at Shea Stadium. A single by Jason Phillips drives home the winning run in the ninth inning.
