1976: Jon Matlack pitches a five-hit shutout and John Milner hits a grand slam in a 13-0 Mets win over the Cardinals at Shea Stadium.
1992: The Mets end a three-game losing streak with a 6-4 win over the Cubs in 12 innings at Wrigley Field.
2003: Tony Clark singles home the winning run in the ninth inning for a 7-6 Mets win over the Expos at Shea Stadium.
2009: Mike Pelfrey pitches seven and two-thirds innings of shutout ball to get the win as the Mets beat the Brewers, 1-0. With the Reds and Dodgers also winning by the same score, it is the first time since September 1, 1976, that three National League teams win by 1-0 scores on the same day. The win also ends the Mets' five-game losing streak.
