Jose Offerman was an infielder for the Mets in 2005. He played in 53 games with the team. Offerman had 18 hits for 23 total bases as a Met.
Offerman joined the Mets as a free agent in ’05. In his first at bat for the team on June 28, he had a run-scoring single in an 8-3 Mets win over the Phillies at Shea Stadium. Jose had an RBI single and a run scored in the Mets’ 5-2 victory at Washington on July 4. He singled home the tying run in an eventual 6-3 Mets win over the Braves on July 14 at Shea. Offerman drove in two runs (his last career RBIs) with a single in a 5-1 Mets victory over the Pirates on August 17 at Shea. He also singled for his final major league hit in the Mets’ season-closing 11-3 defeat to the Rockies at Shea on October 2.
