Jose Lima

Jose Lima was a pitcher for the Mets in 2006. He made four starts for the team. Lima had 12 strikeouts in 17 and one-third innings pitched as a Met.
Lima joined the Mets as a free agent after twelve seasons in the major leagues. He was the losing pitcher in each of his appearances with the team. At Shea Stadium on May 7, Jose hurled five innings in a 13-3 Mets defeat to the Braves. He had four and two-thirds innings pitched in a 9-6 Mets loss at Milwaukee on May 12. Lima pitched four and two-thirds innings in the Mets’ 6-3 defeat at St. Louis on May 18. He lasted three innings in a 7-3 Mets loss to the Marlins on July 7 at Shea. Jose also recorded seven wins in 25 games for the Mets’ AAA-level team in Norfolk during the ’06 season.
In 2007, Lima pitched for the Saraperos de Saltillo of the Mexican League. He followed up with two seasons in independent league ball. Jose died on May 23, 2010 in Pasadena, California.
