Jorge Toca

Jorge Toca was a first baseman and outfielder for the Mets from 1999 to 2001. He played in 25 games with the team. Toca had seven hits and five runs batted in as a Met.

In each of his three seasons, Toca joined the Mets in September after spending the year in the minor leagues. In his major league debut at Los Angeles on September 12, 1999, he singled in his only at bat in a 10-3 Mets win over the Dodgers. Jorge hit a three-run double in the eighth inning to put the Mets ahead to stay in a 4-2 victory over the Expos at Shea Stadium on September 30, 2000. He singled and scored the winning run in the 11th inning of the Mets' 3-2 triumph over the Marlins on September 1, 2001. Toca also singled and scored a run in a 12-6 Mets win at Montreal on September 27.

Toca continued to play for the Mets' AAA-level team in Norfolk until 2003. He spent three more seasons in minor league ball. Jorge concluded his career in the Mexican League in 2007.
