John Hudek was a pitcher for the Mets in 1998. He made 28 relief appearances for the team. Hudek had one win and 28 strikeouts as a Met.
Hudek pitched 27 innings for the Mets during the '98 season. At Cincinnati on April 19, he struck out three batters in a perfect ninth inning to finish off the Mets' 14-0 win over the Reds. John pitched a perfect top of the ninth to close out a 9-2 Mets victory over the Cardinals on May 8 at Shea Stadium. He also pitched one and one-third scoreless innings for the win in a 6-3 Mets victory at Baltimore on June 23.
On July 3, 1998, Hudek was traded to the Reds. He pitched the rest of the season with the Cincinnati team. John concluded his major league career with the Braves in 1999.
