Joe Vitko was a pitcher for the Mets in 1992. He appeared in three games with the team. Vitko had six strikeouts in four and two-thirds innings pitched as a Met.
In ’92, Vitko made his major league debut on September 18. He pitched a scoreless ninth inning in the Mets’ 10-4 loss to the Expos at Shea Stadium. Joe relieved in a 10-1 Mets loss to the Cubs at Shea on September 21. In his only major league start, he was tagged with the loss in a 7-6 Mets defeat to the Phillies on September 28 at Shea.
Vitko pitched in 14 games in the Mets’ minor league system in 1993 and 1994 to conclude his career.
