Joe Grzenda

Joe Grzenda was a pitcher for the Mets in 1967. He made 11 relief appearances for the team. Grzenda had a 2.16 earned run average as a Met.
Grzenda came to the Mets from the Kansas City Athletics during the '67 season. He made his Mets debut with two perfect innings in a 3-2 loss in the first game of a doubleheader at Philadelphia on August 15. Two days later, Joe had three and one-third scoreless innings pitched in a 6-5 Mets loss at Pittsburgh in a doubleheader nightcap. He also pitched two shutout innings in the Mets' 2-0 defeat to the Reds on September 9 at Shea Stadium.
Grzenda was sold to the Minnesota Twins in November of '67. After a year in the minor leagues, he had a 4-1 won-lost record for the Twins' American League West Division championship team in 1969. Joe pitched for the Washington Senators over the next two seasons and with the Cardinals in 1972. He pitched two more years in the minor leagues to conclude his career.
