Joe Foy

Joe Foy was a third baseman for the Mets in 1970. He had 76 hits, including 12 doubles and 6 homers, in 99 games played. Foy scored 39 runs and had 37 runs batted in as a Met in his only year with the team.
Joe was acquired by the Mets from the Royals for Amos Otis and Bob Johnson on December 3, 1969. He had a sacrifice fly in the team's season-opening 5-3 win at Pittsburgh on April 7. In the second game of a doubleheader on July 19, Foy had a single, double, two homers and five RBIs in a 7-6 Met victory at San Francisco. Joe's second homer was the game-winner in the tenth inning. Foy had a two-run single in the Mets' 3-0 win at San Diego on July 21. He also walked with the bases loaded to force home the winning run in the ninth to give the Mets a 5-4 win over the Reds in Game 1 of a doubleheader at Shea Stadium on August 23.
In 1971, Foy concluded his career with the Washington Senators.
