Joe Crawford was a pitcher for the Mets in 1997. He appeared in 19 games with the team. Crawford had four wins and 25 strikeouts as a Met.

Crawford pitched his only major league season with the Mets in '97. At Shea Stadium on July 18, he pitched four and one-third innings of three-hit relief for his first win in a 4-3 Mets victory over the Reds. Joe allowed three hits over the first six innings and got the win in a 3-1 Mets triumph over the Dodgers on August 21 at Shea. He gave up only one hit in four innings of relief for the win in the Mets' 7-5 victory over the Pirates at Shea on September 24. Crawford also pitched a scoreless ninth inning to get the win in a 2-1 Mets triumph over the Braves on September 27 at Shea.

In 1998 and 1999, Crawford pitched in Japan for the Chiba Lotte Marines. He spent the next two years in minor and independent leagues to end his career.
