Jim Frey
From The Met Wiki
Jim Frey was a coach for the Mets in 1982 and 1983. He served under George Bamberger and Frank Howard during his time on the team's staff.
Before joining the Mets, Frey had a noteworthy career as a major league coach and manager. During the 1970s, he was on a staff that guided the Baltimore Orioles to five division titles, three American League pennants and a World Championship. Jim led the Kansas City Royals to the 1980 American League pennant in his first season as a manager. He came to Mets in '82 to rejoin Bamberger, his fellow coach at Baltimore.
After being let go by the Mets after the 1983 season, Frey became the manager of the Chicago Cubs. He led the Cubs to a division title and was named National League Manager of the Year in 1984. Jim continued to manage the Cubs until 1986 and later became their general manager. He has also served as Vice Chairman for the Atlantic League's Somerset Patriots.
