Jerry Martin

Jerry Martin was an outfielder for the Mets in 1984. He played in 51 games with the team. Martin had 14 hits for 24 total bases as a Met.
After ten seasons with the Phillies, Cubs, Giants and Royals, Martin joined the Mets as a free agent in March of '84. At San Diego on May 20, he hit a home run in the Mets' 4-2 win in 10 innings over the Padres. Jerry homered to put the Mets ahead to stay in a 4-1 victory at Pittsburgh on August 3. He also hit a game-winning two-run homer in the Mets 4-2 triumph at San Francisco in the second game of a doubleheader on August 19.
Martin was released by the Mets after the '84 season to conclude his career.
