Jeff Tam

Jeff Tam was a pitcher for the Mets in 1998 and 1999. He made 24 relief appearances for the team. Tam had one win and 16 strikeouts as a Met.
Tam came to the Mets from the Cleveland Indians during the '98 season. At Shea Stadium on July 12, he pitched one and two-thirds perfect innings and got the win in the Mets' 5-2 victory over the Expos. Jeff had one and one-third scoreless innings pitched in a 7-5 Mets win in the first game of a doubleheader at Milwaukee on July 22. He also pitched a scoreless inning in the Mets' 7-4 victory in 13 innings at Houston on September 14.
In '99, Tam had 11 and one-third innings pitched for the Mets. He pitched scoreless eight and ninth innings to finish off the Mets' 12-5 win over the Padres at Shea on August 11. He also struck out two batters in a perfect eighth inning in an 11-1 Mets victory over the Phillies on September 18 at Shea.
From 2000 to 2002, Tam pitched for the Oakland Athletics. He concluded his major league career with the Blue Jays in 2003. Jeff later pitched two seasons in independent leagues.
