Jaime Cerda

Jaime Cerda was a pitcher for the Mets in 2002 and 2003. He made 59 relief appearances for the team. Cerda had one win and 40 strikeouts as a Met.
In '02, Cerda joined the Mets from their minor league system. He struck out three batters in one and two-thirds scoreless innings in his major league debut against the Yankees on June 28. One day later, Jaime pitched a perfect bottom of the ninth to finish off the Mets' 11-2 win over the Yanks. He pitched two innings of scoreless relief in the Mets' 16-3 loss to the Astros on July 30 at Shea Stadium. Cerda also had three strikeouts in two scoreless innings in a 5-2 Mets defeat to the Braves at Shea on September 28.
Cerda had 32 and one-third innings pitched in '03. At Shea on April 3, he recorded three strikeouts in two perfect innings in the Mets' 6-3 loss to the Cubs. Jaime pitched a scoreless eighth inning to get his first major league win in a 7-5 Mets victory at Cincinnati on July 6. He also had three strikeouts in a pair of scoreless innings in the Mets' 10-9 loss to the Cardinals on August 2 at Shea.
In 2004, Cerda was traded to the Royals. He had a 2-8 won-lost record in 73 games over two seasons with the Kansas City team. Jaime concluded his career in the Mariners' organization in 2007.
