Jack Heidemann was an infielder for the Mets in 1975 and 1976. He had 32 hits and 16 runs batted in while playing in 66 games with the team. As a Met, Heidemann was primarily a shortstop.

Heidemann was acquired by the Mets with Mike Vail from the Cardinals in a trade for Ted Martinez on December 11, 1974. In the '75 season, he had 42 total bases and 12 runs scored. Jack had a bases-loaded walk and a three-run double for four RBIs against his former St. Louis team in the Mets' 14-7 win at Busch Memorial Stadium on April 17. Three days later, he homered in an 8-6 Mets victory over the Cubs at Shea Stadium. Heidemann tripled and scored a run in the Mets' 3-0 victory over the Expos at Shea on May 2. He also hit a two-run triple in the Mets' 10-9 comeback win over the Astros at Shea on July 20.

In 1976, Heidemann began the season with the Mets' AAA-level Tidewater team in Norfolk, Virginia. He appeared in five games for the Mets after his recall. Jack's only hit of the year as a Met was a single off Randy Jones in the team's 3-0 loss at San Diego on June 9.

On June 22, Heidemann was dealt to the Milwaukee Brewers for pitcher Tom Deidel. He played in 69 games for the Brewers in '76. Jack ended his career with the Milwaukee team in 1977.
