On the seventh anniversary of his being traded for Gary Carter, Hubie Brooks was again dealt by the Mets. The team sent Brooks to the California Angels in exchange for outfielder Dave Gallagher. Hubie had returned to the Mets in 1991 and hit .238 in 103 games during the year. Gallagher was a five-year veteran player who batted .293 with the Angels in '91.
Gallagher played the 1992 and 1993 seasons with the Mets. He appeared in 197 games and hit .258 with 7 home runs and 49 runs batted in. Dave had 147 total bases for the Mets. In '92, Brooks had a .216 batting average with eight homers in his only season with the Angels.
