Hideo Nomo

Hideo Nomo was a pitcher for the Mets in 1998. He pitched in 17 games with the team. Nomo had four wins and 94 strikeouts as a Met.
Nomo came to the Mets from the Dodgers during the '98 season. At Shea Stadium on July 17, he pitched seven shutout innings and got the win in the Mets' 6-0 victory over the Phillies. Hideo had seven innings pitched and got two singles for the win in a 6-1 Mets triumph in a doubleheader nightcap at Milwaukee on July 22. He struck out eight batter in five innings and was the winning pitcher in a 7-3 Mets victory over the Padres on July 28 at Shea. Nomo also pitched a complete game three-hitter with ten strikeouts for the win in the Mets' 4-1 triumph at San Francisco on August 26.
In 1999, Nomo pitched for the Brewers after being released by the Mets. He continued to pitch in the major leagues until 2005. Nomo pitched for the White Sox' AAA-level team in Charlotte in 2006. After a year out of baseball, he concluded his career with the Royals in 2008.
