Greg Harts

Greg Harts was a member of the Mets in 1973. An outfielder by trade, he appeared in three games during the team's drive to the National League East Divison title. Harts had a .500 batting average with the Mets.
In '73, Harts made his major legue debut at Shea Stadium on September 15. He got a pinch-hit single in the Mets' 7-0 loss to the Cubs in the second game of a doubleheader. Greg grounded out as a pinch-hitter in a 10-3 Mets loss at Pittsburgh on September 17. Harts also entered as a pinch-runner in the ninth inning at Shea on September 20. Representing the winning run, he was left stranded at third base before the Mets went on to defeat the Pirates, 4-3, in 13 innings.
Harts spent the 1974 season with the Mets' AA-level team in Victoria, Texas and AAA-level Tidewater team in Norfolk, Virginia. In 1975, he became a pitcher with the Mets' A-level team in Visalia, California. Greg posted a 5.90 earned run average in 19 games at Visalia to conclude his career.
