Glendon Rusch

Glendon Rusch was a lefthanded pitcher for the Mets from 1999 to 2001. He pitched 370 and two-thirds innings in 65 games for the team. Rusch recorded 19 wins and 313 strikeouts as a Met.
Rusch was acquired from the Kansas City Royals in a trade for Dan Murray on September 14, 1999. After pitching one inning for the Mets in '99, he started 30 games and had a relief appearance for the 2000 National League Championship team. On April 22, Glendon got his first win as a Met in the team's 8-3 victory over the Cubs at Shea Stadium. He pitched seven innings of shutout ball in a 5-0 Mets win over the Expos at Shea on July 25. Rusch was the winning pitcher in the Mets' 3-2 triumph at Philadelphia on September 24 that clinched a tie for the National League Wild Card.
Glendon pitched six games in relief during the 2000 post-season. Against the Giants, Cardinals and Yankees, he had a collective earned run average of 1.08 with seven strikeouts. Glendon got the win in the Mets' 10-6 victory over the Cardinals at Shea in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series on October 15.
In 2001, Rusch led all Mets pitchers with 33 games started. He had 8 wins while pitching 179 innings during the year. Glendon struck out nine batters in seven innings and recorded the win in the Mets' 4-0 triumph over the Expos at Shea on April 17. He teamed up with Armando Benitez for a one-hit shutout and a 2-0 win over the Red Sox at Shea on July 14. Rusch also pitched a complete game for a 6-1 win at Florida on September 7.
On January 21, 2002, Rusch was traded with Alex Ochoa and Lenny Harris to the Milwaukee Brewers for Jeromy Burnitz, Jeff D'Amico, Lou Collier and Mark Sweeney. He pitched for the Brewers for two years before spending three seasons with the Cubs. Glendon also pitched for the Padres and Rockies during his career.
