George Medich

George Medich was a pitcher for the Mets in 1977. He appeared in one game with the team. Medich struck out three batters in seven innings pitched as a Met.

Medich (a medical student who was often called "Doc") was purchased by the Mets from the Seattle Mariners in September of '77. He was the starting pitcher for the Mets in a game at Pittsburgh on September 29. George was tagged with the loss in the Mets' 5-2 defeat to the Pirates. He joined the Texas Rangers as a free agent after the season.

Medich pitched for the Rangers from 1978 to 1982. During the '82 season, he joined the eventual American League champion Milwaukee Brewers. George concluded his career with the Brewers in the '82 World Series.
