Gene Dusan

Gene Dusan was a coach for the Mets in 1983. He served as a bullpen coach under George Bamberger and Frank Howard.
As a player, Dusan spent nine seasons as a minor league catcher. He appeared in a total of 765 games in the Athletics, Reds, Cardinals and Indians organizations. Gene was a manager in the Cleveland system from 1977 to 1980. He then came to the Mets and managed their A-level team at Lynchburg, Virginia in 1981 and AA-level team at Jackson, Mississippi in 1982.
Following his lone year on the Mets’ coaching staff, Dusan became a manager in the Reds’ minor league system. He skippered their AAA-level teams in Wichita and Denver over the next two years. Gene also managed the Reds’ A-level team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1986.
